Club History

The Mets Baseball Cub was formed in 1988 as a family friendly community organisation to support both youth and senior baseball in the community. We pride our Club on being a family friendly Club and nurturing young athletes. Mets has been voted the Macarthur Baseball League’s Club of The Year for 10 of the last 12 years. We have players ranging from four years old to their seventies.

The club has been running for more than thirty years and in that time has had many players of all genders and ability, including those with disabilities represent our club. We have had many junior club members represent the club at various representative competitions right up to nationals, setting records along the way. This includes players selected to Australian National teams playing overseas at the junior levels. In the latest summer season Mets had over 215 junior & senior playing members comprising 19 teams along with over 90 volunteers, coaches, scorers and umpires.

As a club we are very proud of our achievements and the hard work of a lot of people connected with the club has led to on-field success. The club continues to make up a high percentage of players representing Macarthur Baseball League representative teams for Little League, Junior League and Senior League teams. Macarthur have been represented in the Junior Nationals across these leagues consistently over the past 5 years. In 2020/21 Macarthur were State Champions in Senior League, 2nd place in both Junior League and 4th in Little League Majors. The Senior League team has taken 2nd place recently at Nationals. In the most recent Summer season, the club had representation in 5 of 10 division Grand Finals, coming away with 2 premierships.

As we develop our young players, parents are encouraged to play on our senior teams, coach, score or umpire as volunteers supporting the club and the league. Our club has always welcomed mothers, fathers, grandparents, friends and extended family to come along and experience the joy of seeing their family members, friends and extended family play the international game of baseball in a safe and caring environment.

With the family and community spirit fostered, we have continued to see our club grow. In recognition of this bright future, Camden Council have committed to building a new baseball park at the LS1 site in Oran Park/Catherine Park. You can find more details of the development in the New Home Ground tab.

Sponsorships allow the club to support new players with team and training equipment as we grow. Some of the funds will go towards new equipment and services at the new field. We look forward to expanding into our new home ground and are searching for key partners to help the club on this journey.
